Quest for a higher pay: A Matter of Attitude

A lot of my fellow employees believe that to have a higher income, we have to be at the mercy of outside forces - the boss, the wage scale, the recession, the poor local economy, the presidents economic policy and all other reasons.

This is the attitude of always looking for other people/reasons to blame for their circumstances. If you will always be looking for other people to blame and feeling sorry for yourself, you certainly fail to see a lot of opportunities that come your way.

Once you learn to change your attitude towards your work, you will experience a transformation of your performance in your job. Your attitude of being an employee will change to become more of an entrepreneur. Whenever you are working, you are working for your self.

The attitude that you show in your work will reflect the quantity and quality of your work, in your interactions with employers and fellow employees and your fearfulness about your job security.

But how do we change these kind of attitude? To do these one must cultivate a positive attitude of self-respect, pride in your contribution to your workplace, dedication to your job, cooperation with your employers and coworkers, desire to do the the job right, personal integrity, responsibility and accountability- commit to a 100% excellence.

These integrity and the increased quality and productivity of your work will easily qualify you for a pay raise (Your money or your life by Vicki Robin & Joe Dominguez).

Hence, there are times that you don't need to ask your employers to give you a pay raise, you certainly attract it and have it.

At the end of the day.. A job well done - does no other good but to the man who does it.

                                                           Happy Pay Raise

Aside from doing good on your job we must also realize that we need to increase our value as an individual.
What I did is I join the Truly Rich Club, of Bo Sanchez as my means to open myself to other forms of financial increases.

Being frugal is being an earth saver.

To save money or to be frugal means we are also taking part in saving the earth.

Every time we buy something we are not only consuming the item and other things that goes with it. All of those activity from the extraction of the raw materials to the process of manufacturing to produce say for example your flat screen TV are included in the price it cost you.

However, consciously or unconsciously we are not aware that during the process of manufacturing that certain product their are environmental cost that are not included like the pollution and waste it produces. We the consumers are the one paying and suffering for- the effects of pollution that lead to lung diseases, cancer, respiratory problems desertification, flooding, etc.

Every time we get money from our pocket we are helping the planet to look what it is now- and the way it will look in the coming generations. According to Pogo " We have meet the enemy and he is us". We should not be puzzled why the planet is polluted. we are the very culprit because of our demand for more, better and different stuff.

Saving money then is a major thing we can do for ourselves and mother earth. A form of creative frugality - for our wallets and our world.

The kinds of changes we may all need to keep  the environment viable will require some deliberate and courageous modifications of our current habits.

we must be active to choose a non-polluting pleasure and have twice the fulfillment- We must always remember that anything you buy and don't use, anything  you throw away, anything you consume and don't enjoy is money down the drain and wasting the finite resources of the planet.

Frugality then is one sure way to help build a better world.

Living way below your means is what it means to be frugal.

Most Millionnire according to the millionnaire next door by stanley, lived a very low profile lifestyle. A lifestyle of a middle class people. Despite the fact that they can afford the most expdensive suit, footwear and vacations. Millionares put a very high regard on budgeting. They are tracking their money to very last centavo that they spend.

Budgeting is a way of life for them, budgeting is simple but not easy. I also am doing my tabulation and tracking down my expenses. It really has a good effect on how I manage my finances its my 3rd month now and i can compare my spending habits from the previous months and where i have adjustments to save first, invest second and spend the third.

I also have a daily alloted money for my daily expenses. I make sure that i dont exceed 50 pesos a day for my expenses for food and transportation at work. Although I have different expenses for food at home because i am living with my student assistant. But nevertheless I make sure I live within the alloted budget for the week.

My awareness of budgeting doesnt come out of nothing. When I join the Truly Rich Club by Bo Sanchez, I learned some easy ways to hold-on on my spending.

The very first thing I do when I receive my salary is to set aside specific amount for my stock market investment, tithes and savings. And spend the rest.

Frugal Pinay

Frugality is an ancient word which comes from latin root word with frug "virtue" frux "fruit or value", frui "to enjoy or have the use of"

Frugality is enjoying the virtue of getting good value for every minute of your life energy and from everything you have the use of (Robin & Dominguez, Your money or your life).

Its simply being content and enjoy your possessions. If you have five pairs of shoes but feels you still luck one and failed to enjoy the other pair then one is not frugal.Frugal people use something wisely. its about getting a full value of everything that life has to offer.

Frugal people make sure they get value on all purchase from the- kilo of mangoes, to the galloon of ice cream and even a simple beach get away. Waste is not on the  number of our possessions but on our failure to enjoy them.

You dont even have to own something to enjoy it.. you merely have to use it...

Being frugal is right-use or righteous.
It is being able to say that one has enough. Enough is being contented with the things that life has provided you.

I would say that to be a frugal person takes a lot of effort espacially if you are not brought up to be frugal. But eventually one will learn how to become one. The very first step to be frugal is to enjoy to the fullest the very things you possess, before acquire similar or the same item. To achieve it you need to have mentors that will guide you to become financially independent, joining the Truly Rich Club is very beneficial to me.
